LOADING BELLOWS

1 Mins read

Loading bellows are referred to by many different names including loading spouts, telescopic chutes and loading chutes. Loading bellows render fast and steady material flow during the loading of dry bulk materials in open or enclosed vessels like trucks, ships, tank vehicles and stockpiles. With the help of dust collection systems, loading spouts are able to prevent product waste and provide dustless material processing, thus, ensuring plant, operator and environment safety with minimized maintenance costs.

How Do Loading Bellows Work?

The idea behind the operation of a loading bellow is simply a smooth vertical discharge of bulk materials, in granular or powdered form, by its own weight and collecting any dust within the same enclosed column upwards. For maximum clearance, the bellow design allows retractable heights during operations.

When an operation (discharging and loading) begins, the loading spout is lowered from its stand-by position towards the loading position. The wire cables stop lowering the spout once the outlet end has reached the loading spot. Dust is produced within the bellow during operation. With the help of the dust collection system, the contained dust is captured. This helps prevent dry bulk material waste and keeps a safe working environment. When loading is complete, the system pauses a few minutes before fully retracting to ensure complete bulk material discharge and dust collecting. After then, the system returns to its standby position.

Loading Bellow Models

The is a wide range of loading bellow models available for numerous dry bulk material applications. The models can be separated into three different categories namely; closed vessel loading bellows, open vessel loading bellows and combined loading bellows for both open and closed vessels.

  • Closed vessel loading bellows
    • Tanker loading bellow.
  • Open vessel loading bellows
    • Open truck loading bellows.
    • Ship loading bellows.
    • Stockpile loading bellows.
  • Combined loading bellows for tanker vessels and open vessels
    • Combined loading bellows for tanker trucks and open trucks.
